The Dexter Industries SD card comes configured with Bonjour, software which allows you to get the networking up and running with zero configuration. This one is going to be a bit long, but you can reap endless rewards once you are done with it. This mode is called Headless mode for connecting to the Raspberry Pi. I am using raspberry pi as an OVS (OpenFlow based Switch).Congrats on your new Raspberry Pi. both take the same mac address i mentioned before and all i want is that they take different permanent mac addresses even when i reboot or unplug and replug the adapter thank you Thanks in Advance, and again all i want is that i have 2 usb 2.0 to ethernet adapters of the same corp. but i am a beginner in linux so i don't know if it would help my problem or not. I found a file in /lib/udev/rules.d/les and i found inside it some corps and a range of macs for each corp. gets a permanent mac from a range of macs that i specifed before for that corp. so that all USB to ethernet adapters of the same corp. but i think its not very practical and also when i unplug and replug the USB adapter the original 00:e0:4c:53:44:58 MAC appear again and i need to reboot to read the mac.sh file again with the new MAC i specified so is there any other way to make the my adapter gets a range of random MACs for the same corp. Ifconfig eth1 down hw ether xx:xx:xx:xx:xx:xxĪnd made the file excutable.
